Sensitive Personally Identifiable Information

This application is not intended for collection or storage of Sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (SPII). Please do not input such information into this system. Examples of SPII include non-publicly available information (e.g., unlisted phone numbers, social security numbers, and any other information that is considered sensitive or personal). Please reference the DHS Handbook for Safeguarding Sensitive Personally Identifiable Information for further guidance on types of SPII.

Privacy Policy

The Incident Resource Inventory System (IRIS) was developed under a contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). It is provided to the response community free of charge and is not a centrally managed application. All data privacy, storage, and liability is a responsibility of the system owner who installs IRIS for their use.

IRIS includes an IRIS directory that enables users to search and discover other IRIS installations. Agencies using IRIS may choose to participate in this directory. By choosing to participate in the IRIS directory, users consent to share the following IRIS information in a public directory made available to other IRIS users:

By choosing to participate in the IRIS directory, users additionally consent to share the following IRIS information with the P-TAC Center and FEMA:

IRIS will sometimes send certain non-personally identifiable information to the P-TAC Center and FEMA as part of the IRIS metrics program, unless an agency chooses not to participate in this metrics program. This information consists of the IRIS instance ID, IRIS version, operating system, database version, and IP address. In addition to this basic IRIS information, agencies may also choose to supply the following pieces of information:

All IRIS information supplied to the P-TAC Center and FEMA as part of the IRIS Directory and IRIS metrics program is used to identify IRIS system use and business contact information for the IRIS system owner. Actual resources are not tracked or shared with the P-TAC Center or FEMA. Users who participate in the IRIS Directory and/or IRIS metrics program consent to receiving IRIS newsletters, system update notices, and/or other general information about IRIS through distribution lists.
